ST. JAMES-ASSINIBOIA SCHOOL DIVISION "Great Schools for Growing and Learning" ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR Performs professional accounting work involving audit, compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Performs internal audit reviews for school locations and parent council organizations; Manages KEV School Cash and School Cash online software; Performs bank reconciliations for General, Payroll, US, International Education and Capital accounts; Administers project grants, submits claims, and completes financial reporting; Manages the Accounting (Atrieve ERP) data system. Facilitates the implementation of new modules or software updates; Assists the Secretary-Treasurer's department with budget development and audit processes; Supervises Accounts Payable staff; Assists the FIPPA officer to ensure Division practices are compliant; Attends various Divisional Committee meetings; Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: 3rd year CPA or equivalent; Minimum of 5 years of related experience; Knowledge of F.R.A.M.E., PSAB, CICA handbook, and sales tax regulations; Knowledge of computers and computer software; Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; Ability to supervise staff; Ability to work under minimal supervision and meet strict time deadlines Ability to conduct audits both annually and ongoing; Ability to handle large amounts of cash and cheques and handle highly confidential information; Ability to travel to school locations within the Division and to outside organizations; Ability to attend evening meetings; Equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable to the Division.
